Hold my hand, please

This past year, my brother was diagnosed with Burkits Lymphoma, and he passed away on 2/27/13. This picture was taken the day he died. My mom and Ian, my brother, are holding hands one last time. I feel like this is such a powerful photo. Mother and Son, one final moment. I wanted to do something that had a purpose and relation to me so this picture came to mind. I think you will find it powerful as well.

Your style is mine

So, with this project I went a tad overboard. As soon as I heard about this project I knew that I wanted to do a parody on Vincent vn Gog's "A Starry Night". This is by far my favorite painting and I thought there must be a cool way to make this classic painting original again. Then, after I thought for a bit on just how to execute that, the idea of face painting someone's face with this painting stuck in my mind. No body volunteered for their face to be painted (go figure) so I used a mirror to paint myself. I hope you like the final product!

What's your perspective?

Last week, we worked on using perspectives to add depth and style to our art. One point, two point, atmosphere, and forced perspective are the types we have studied and practiced. Here are three of the four types just practiced in sketches. Enjoy.
